Stress and strain
Stress is the internal force per unit area when the material resists external loads. Strain is the ratio of the size of the object after the force changes to the original size.
The ideal elastic solid under external force, the size of the change and the size of the load is proportional to; when the load is removed, the original size can be restored, the strain also disappeared.
